Yes, Miles finally talked us into it. He's wanted a pet of his own for years. Now he's got two gerbils named Sugar and Cinnamon. The thing that surprises me the most is how much Matt loves them! He's kind of a softy.
Miles holds his gerbils every day. He loves them! He thrives on responsibility. I was a little worried about our cat Zoe getting them but when Miles accidently dropped Cinnamon on Zoe's back and she didn't seem to care, I figured we're safe.

I laughed when he started saying ow...when he put it on his head. I'm so proud of you. I really think kids need pets. We have really enjoyed our hamster. I think we got lucky and got a really pleasant little guy.
Ok, you are a good mother. I will NEVER get that title because I told the kids if they want a pet that have to decide which one of them goes - because I can only handle taking care of threed (well four really) other "things"! But we are more than happy to visit those who do have pets.

Did you watch the news about the rats taking over Tumwater? You're sure you guys got hamsters and not rats right? Just kidding, they are pretty darn cute as long as they are at someone else's house. My kids all want a dog or a baby to take care of. Too bad they aren't getting either.
