As Emily, Lucy, and I were walking home from the library today Lucy shared some interesting thoughts--well, amidst her imaginary cell phone conversations with her stuffed animal (a platypus named Platy) she left at home.
Lucy: Elise thinks her mom knows everything. But she's just six. She'll understand when she gets older that moms don't know everything.
Mom: Um...Lucy, you are six.
Lucy: Yeah, I just know. Moms don't know the really hard stuff like why Heavenly Father was born.
I think my head just exploded.

If Only....
Today we set off to go raspberry picking. I spent a good chunk of time researching places to go pick but to no avail. No one would even answer their phone...or return my message for that matter. So I picked a place I'd been to before and we took our chances.
Then there's Lucy. She's not too fond of raspberries. Wha??? (It will come. I just need to expose her to them more.) So on the way to the farm this morning, she said, "I wish we were going marshmellow picking instead." She proceeded to sing a song--surely made up--about the marshmellow farm. Before long we stumbled upon this....
Emily LOVES raspberries! For me, they are a little reminder of my childhood. We had raspberries in my yard growning up. Even better was visiting Grandma in Idaho. We'd pick raspberries, put them in a bowl, and poor cold cream over them. Not just any cream. Cream from their cows. Pure heaven!

Yep. Lucy kept laughing and asking if we could stop and pick them. After finding that there were no raspberries available at the farm we were going to today, I must admit I was tempted.
