BLECK!!

Lucy has always been magnetically attracted to dandelions. At times she's had bouquets bigger than she can hold of those unwanted yellow flowers. Many of you have probably seen me with one behind my ear as I've tried to accept Lucy's gift with gratitude. I know this is not at all uncommon for little girls to think those pesky flowers are beautiful but Lucy has taken it to a new level.

Last week after Lucy's appalled reaction to the removal of a dandelion sprout in our yard, I explained to her that they are, in fact, weeds. I know I'd mentioned it before but this time it was as if I had just told her the Easter bunny was really a cow. A few days later we were driving back from the park where she had gathered more the beloved flowers.

"Mom, are weeds healthy for you?" She asked.

In my rear view mirror I caught a glimpse of her chowing--and I mean, chowing--an entire dandelion. After some serious chewing I heard a gulp. Yes, days ago we had talked about how they were indeed edible. The most surprising thing was that she liked it. And I can't get that girl to eat watermelon!

Miles thought he'd give it a try. I heard no gulping there!

Maybe she needs her liver cleansed! Dandelion is great for that, haha! At least if she eats all the flowers they won't go to seed. Thanks for sharing the great pics =)

that is so funny.... I always thought they would be bitter? I have never eaten one though.. we used to sing a song, and pop the head off the stem. Your daughter is so sweet and so funny! BTW Miles offered in Primary to watch kids... for a price.. LOL that was for a meeting on Sunday.. Ithought it was funny.
