Is summer really half over? It goes faster every year. Ours started off with an unexpected hospital stay for Lucy. She had either pneumonia or her first asthma attack and her oxygen levels were too low. On the third day of her stay I said to her, "Lucy, your oxygen levels are looking good" to which she replied, "Thank you". At least she has manners.
Though it was a long 3 days, Lucy was a great sport and quickly got the "most personable" award from the nurses. She was thrilled to have her friends Sophie and Katie come visit bearing balloons. Free popsicles on demand, movies all day, one on one with Mom or Dad...if it weren't for that darn IV in her hand it would have been paradise!

In the picture above, Lucy is making great use of her make-up kit that the nurses gave her. That poor little polka-dot puppy the radiologist gave her was greeted by...well let's just say I had to wash it after the nurse gave her really yucky medicine.

Isn't is amazing how resilient kids are? They can be so happy and chipper when they are deathly ill. I need to learn from the little kids and be a little less of a complainer when I'm sick. Now if this darn headache would go away! Just kidding :-)
