School Is Now In Session

Phew! We made it through the holidays and back to routine. As much as I love Christmas, I love putting away all the decorations and getting on the cleaning and dejunking kick that seems to come with it. I have finished so many little projects that have been on my to do list for months! I even made some pillows that I bought fabric for last spring (thanks to Jennifer's sewing tips). I must say I love them.

And here's the back side in case my mood changes...

This morning I moved almost all of the furniture and cleaned the downstairs carpet and stairs. It's amazing what can get done without 20 children running around. You may think I'm exaggerating. Well, okay I am. But it felt like 20 kids.

Now for some pre-Christmas pictures. One morning after a night of a freezing rain the snow was left with a layer of ice. Not the little crunch of ice that sometimes comes with melting snow but a solid layer. Miles and Emily were peeling them off in sheets. There was one that looked exactly like a Santa beard, complete with a hole for the mouth but unfortunately was destroyed by an explorative 5 year old while I was getting the camera.

Other winter break activities included lots of board games, business card stacking,

hot chocolate , campfires,

going to the movies, going to Charlie's Safari, several trips to the library, and of course lots of friend time.

What a fun break. I'm sad to see it end but...

I'm so happy to see it end! Back to work.

I'm glad your break was good and now over! :) Maybe one of these days we can get the girls together again, things have been busy, but Gabs sure would love a playdate!

Wow, Emily has some mad card stacking skills. She must have the patients of I don't know what...something really, rally patient!

I love your pillow! That's on my to-do list, too. One of these days! I love putting away Christmas, too, and cleaning afterwards. It seems like I have so much more space now that it's all gone!
